Ramblings of an Overworked Grad Student

If last week was marked by season permieres and good lab results, this week was marked by a lack of sleep, bad writing and good lab results.

I'll take one out of three. My supervisor is happy with me.


But seriously, if I have to put up with much more bad writing, I'm going to end up doing something drastic. I know I'm not great, but I at least have a good grasp on grammar and verb tense...

And, since this post can't be entirely bad, here's some more of that meme I keep forgetting about.

Day 15 - What is your favorite real life pairing?

I'm going to go with an unusual response and say Misha Collins and his wife Victoria. I heard rumours that she's the one responsible for the questionable awesome photos Misha posts on twitter. I just feel like they have a really fun relationship.

Day 16 - What is the absolute worst pairing?

I could put together quite the list here, but I'll focus on the word absolute to narrow it down. I actually had to think about it for longer than I expected. Arthur/Gwen wins, because they seem so forced by the writers. There are a lot of pairings I dislike, but I can actually see how it happens. With Arthur and Gwen I feel like the writers thought "Crap! There was supposed to be some sort of romance between Arthur and Gwen. We've been pandering to the Arthur/Merlin fans so much we forgot. Maybe if we throw it in now, they'll forget about that, and we can get back to Arthurian legend." Except that Merlin is the biggest bastardization of Arthurian legend I've ever seen, so it comes out ass backwards.

Day 17 - A pairing you thought would never work out, but did?

Rose and the Doctor. I thought that Rose and nine were very platonic, but that Rose and Ten would never quite get that chemistry back. I finally caved and watched season two of Dr. Who after watching Torchwood (because I wanted more, but didn't want to see CoE quite yet), and I was pleasently surprised. I might be one of the few people who actually really liked Rose/Alternate!Ten. It's pretty much the only way they could be happy together.

Day 18 - What is the cutest pairing?

Mikey and Martha, or Tosh and Owen. I was a little giddy with the first, and really sad that the second never happened in canon.
